FAQs
What is the Kāwhia, Aotea and Ōpārau Concept Plan ?
The concept plan will outline the strategy for Kāwhia, Aotea, Ōpārau and rural Ōtorohanga for the next 30 years, providing the vision for all of our future planning, including environmental factors, the culture and identity of the district, and its economic future and recreational purposes.
We need your feedback so we can ensure the concept plan is a representation of its community members.
Why should I provide feedback?
The concept plan uses the feedback you provide to shape the identify of our towns and villages and helps us move forward with strategic planning. It ensures the district is moving in a direction that our community can be proud of.
What will happen with my feedback?
Each piece of feedback will be received and considered by Ōtorohanga District Council and will help to inform us of any changes, additions or updates we should make to the plan.
Ultimately, the feedback you provide will help us ensure that the plan reflects the needs and aspirations of our community.
When will the concept plan be implemented?
Once the plan is finalised council will create an action list. There will be a range of short, medium and long-term actions. We'll tackle the short-term actions within the next few years and the medium to long-term actions after that.
