What does Better Places Together –  Kāwhia and Aotea include?

Better Places Together –  Kāwhia and Aotea brings together a range of actions that were identified as important by the Kāwhia and Aotea communities during the Kāwhia, Aotea, Ōpārau Concept Plan 2024. This included a concept design for Aotea Beach Reserve in Aotea ; a concept design for Omimiti Reserve; a streetscape upgrade for Jervois Street and an urban design plan for Kāwhia township.

Who’s involved ?

To ensure this project reflects the diverse voices across the community, Ōtorohanga District Council (ŌDC) are working alongside the community board, mana whenua in both Aotea and Kāwhia, and a range of organisations with intersecting interests. Engagement with key community groups, public open days and online feedback help us to ensure Better Places Together – Kāwhia and Aotea  reflects the community’s vision for the future of Kāwhia and Aotea
