Arts, Culture and Heritage in Ōtorohanga District
Arts, culture and heritage help tell the stories of our district, celebrate who we are, and create opportunities for people to connect with place and with each other. They can be seen in many forms, including public art, storytelling, heritage interpretation, creative activity, local events, and projects that reflect the identity and character of our communities.
Ōtorohanga District Council has developed an Arts, Culture and Heritage Framework to guide how we consider, support, enable, fund and deliver arts, culture and heritage initiatives across the district. The framework helps provide a consistent and transparent approach to decision-making, while also recognising the important role of community, mana whenua, artists, partners and local knowledge in shaping this work.
This page provides a public home for the framework and related information, and is part of our commitment to making this work visible and accessible.
We know great ideas often come from our communities. If you have an idea for an arts, culture or heritage project, or would like to talk with us about an opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
